Our State Public health system is large and diverse and is publicly funded to ensure that each and every Victorian can get access to our public health system – when they need it to address their health or medical needs. We’re investing in our hospitals and health workforce, because every Victorian should have quality and free healthcare, wherever they live.
The public health system also provides strategies that aim to promote healthier eating and active living; reduce the harm caused by smoking, alcohol and drug use and reduce the risk posed by potentially dangerous substances to ensure safe environments for all Victorians.
Our public health system is also their to help people in times of crisis – whether it’s mental health support or drug and alcohol support – a pathway is there for treatment.
From our youngest Victorians – whether they are newborns or toddlers right up to aged care services the health needs of every Victorian can be addressed through the public health system.
