The program funds community organisations to hold cultural festivals and events for Victorians.

There are two key objectives:

  • ensure Victorians can celebrate and preserve cultures, and share traditions
  • encourage the broader Victorian community to take part in events that further learning, understanding and respect for different cultures and traditions.

The program offers grants of up to $50,000 to support activities that promote and foster social cohesion.

Communities in Melbourne’s north east have another opportunity to benefit from the $10 million fund that is helping local groups and organisations during construction of the North East Link.

Funding will be available throughout the construction of North East Link until project completion and the program will prioritise its support to those most impacted by construction.

Applications are invited from community organisations in the priority suburbs of Balwyn North, Box Hill North, Bulleen, Bundoora, Doncaster, Greensborough, Heidelberg, Kew East, Macleod, Mont Albert North, Rosanna, Templestowe Lower, Viewbank, Watsonia and Yallambie.

The Animal Welfare Fund Grants Program was established under the Domestic Animals Act 1994 in 2011 to support improvement of companion animal welfare in the Victorian community.

The program aims to:

  • improve companion animal welfare
  • improve responsible pet ownership
  • provide better animal welfare services to companion animals and the Victorian community.
