Consultation Now Open For Bushfire Risk Management

Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) is currently seeking input from communities about how to best communicate bushfire risk and prepare for each fire season.

This community engagement campaign follows recommendations from independent inquiries held after the 2019/20 bushfire season that encouraged further consultation on public awareness regarding Victoria’s bushfire risk management. We want to ensure people are hearing and engaging with the right information.

As part of this campaign a new interactive map has been developed by FFMVic as a guide to how bushfire risk management is planned across the state. Victorians can check out the strategy in their region and see why, where, and how often planned burning and other fuel management activities are being delivered. The tool can be accessed at https://bushfireplanning.ffm.vic.gov.au/
