The Victorian Government is supporting Aboriginal Victorians in Melbourne’s east with a permanent home for a vital community organisation, and modern facilities for future generations to enjoy for years to come.
Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place provides a culturally safe and inclusive space for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to come together for a variety of cultural activities and programs that incorporate art, music, language and storytelling.
The Government is providing almost $4.5 million to allow the organisation to purchase the building it is housed in, and carry out critical repairs.
This will ensure Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place can continue to provide essential services to Community from their headquarters in Paterson Street, Ringwood East.
A community controlled Aboriginal organisation that is committed to retaining, promoting, and strengthening cultural identity, Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place has been providing a safe space for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to participate in cultural activities and connect since 2005.
Funding for Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place has been made available through our investment in the Priority Infrastructure and Cultural Heritage Protection for Aboriginal Victorians.
