The Andrews Labor Government is investing $16.3M in targeted mental health outreach to support young Victorians.
This funding will enable all 13 Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Services to either stand up or – where a team exists already – expand Mobile Targeted Assertive Outreach mental health teams support more young people across Victoria.
The mobile teams reduce barriers to treatment and care by visiting young people in settings where the young person feels more comfortable and is already engaged or in attendance (for example schools, universities, the young person’s home, community-based services and facilities – even a local park or other public setting).
This is about taking mental health services to young people, rather than waiting for them to come to us.
Because we’re making sure that no young person with mental health concerns falls through the cracks.
Eastern Health will be delivering this critical program in the Eastern Metro Region.
