Works have completed at Eastfield and Bayswater roads, with the installation of a dedicated right-turn arrow to improve safety for motorists. Now vehicles will only turn right when there is a green turning arrow, greatly reducing the risk of crashes between right turning and oncoming traffic.
Between 2014 and 2018 this intersection saw 16 crashes causing injury, all from right turn incidents.
The upgrade will improve safety and traffic flow at the high-risk intersection – helping get motorists to where they need to go.
It’s part of the Victorian Government’s $1.4 billion investment to reduce road trauma being delivered in partnership with the Department of Transport and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
