$1.347 million upgrades to Croydon Primary School now open

Yesterday, Member for the North-Eastern Metropolitan Region, Sonja Terpstra, opened a new arts and crafts building at Croydon Primary School.

The new addition at Croydon Primary is also equipped with brand-new all-inclusive toilet facilities as well as an upgraded outdoor recreation garden area.

The Allan Labor Government provided $1.347 million to upgrade these creative spaces, as well as replacing the ageing toilet block and an update to the gardens at the school.

The Victorian Government is investing record funding in our schools to make Victoria the Education State. In the past 9 years, the Victorian Government has invested $14.9 billion in building new schools and more than 1,940 school upgrades.

This investment will ensure; every child can get a great education, our schools can cater for Victoria’s growing population, our government schools are better equipped to prepare students for the 21st century.

Modern learning environments help develop creative thinking, promote STEM literacy, and inspire learning for life – critical skills for future success.

New and modern school buildings contribute to school pride for students, parents and the wider community, building their engagement with education.

By reforming schools, the Victorian Government is transforming communities. By sharing sport, cultural and health facilities, schools are becoming neighbourhood hubs.

Quote attributable to Member for North-Eastern Metropolitan Region, Sonja Terpstra:

“It was great to see these upgrades finished, and how excited the students are to be able to express themselves creatively in the modernised spaces.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing some of the great creative works students at Croydon Primary School will be producing in the years to come.”
