Pet food bank opens to help feed pets of struggling families

Member for North-Eastern Metropolitan, Sonja Terpstra has opened a free pet food bank at her Doncaster electorate office to provide pet food to community members in need.

As the cost-of-living crisis impacts more and more families, there has been an uptick in families surrendering their pets to organisations like the RSPCA due to increasing financial pressures forcing them to choose between food for their family or food for their pets.

The pet food bank will provide free pet food to families that may be struggling to feed their pets, to aid in alleviating the pressure increasing food costs is placing on families.

The pet food bank will provide long life food for cats, dogs, and other animals and is open to all those in the community who need it.

The food bank is made possible by a partnership with the RSPCA to ensure that there is food for all the families that need it.

If you or someone you know is struggling to feed their pet, drop in to the Pet Food Bank in Doncaster to pick up some food, or call the office on 9937 2566 to find out what food is currently available.
